I love the way the sunlight filters through the trees. This work is watercolor on paper, which was then bonded to masonite with acrylic medium. (This intensifies the colors and eliminates the need for matting and glass.) Acrylic highlights and glaze were then applied.
About Edith Hunsberger
Though I was an art teacher early in my career and have painted off-and-on for most of my life, my professional experience has largely been as a bureacrat/manager/statistician--very dry and stressful, enlivened only rarely by out-of-the-box exuberance and risk-taking. But for the past several years I have been retired and live overlooking Lake Wyola in Shutesbury, MA. I am now happily painting (watercolors and acrylics), fly-fishing from my kayak, golfing, and playing tennis. I share my home with three dogs, two cats, two parakeets, and whatever the cats drag in. (A frog in the dogs' water dish?) The doggies and I walk the adjacent pine woods daily, and I take a lot of pictures. Sometimes my own photos inspire my paintings, and...
